By installing or using Anonium you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app. These terms apply alongside the privacy policy and the refunds and subscription terms.
The service
Anonium lets you publish a link that others can use to send you text messages without revealing their identity to you. Messages are encrypted end to end and stored on the participating devices, not on our servers.
Understand what anonymity means here. Anonium hides the sender's identity from the recipient. It does not hide your identity from someone you personally gave your link to, and it cannot prevent anyone from identifying themselves in the text they write.
Eligibility
You must meet the minimum age required by the app store rating in your country, and by any applicable law, to use Anonium. You are responsible for ensuring that use of the app is lawful where you are.
Acceptable use
Anonymity is not a licence to harm people. You must not use Anonium to:
- Harass, threaten, stalk, bully or intimidate any person
- Send sexual content involving minors, or any content that sexualises a minor in any way
- Blackmail, extort, defraud or deceive for gain
- Incite violence, self-harm or hatred against people or groups
- Distribute malware, phishing links or other malicious material
- Impersonate a specific person in order to deceive
- Break any law, or infringe anyone's rights
- Attempt to identify, deanonymise or track another user
- Interfere with, overload, reverse engineer or circumvent the service, its limits or its safety mechanisms
- Use automated systems to create identities or send messages at scale
Because messages are end to end encrypted, we cannot read or moderate their contents. Enforcement therefore relies on technical measures such as rate limiting and abuse signals, and on the tools given to you directly.
Your content
You retain all rights to what you write. We claim no ownership and no licence over message content, and we are technically unable to access it. You are solely responsible for what you send.
Safety tools and self-help
Because we cannot see message content, control sits with you. You can block any conversation permanently, delete a conversation from your device, and renew your link — which retires the old link everywhere and ends conversations tied to it. If someone is abusing you through Anonium, these tools are the fastest remedy, and serious matters should be reported to your local authorities.
Premium subscriptions
Premium is an optional recurring subscription that unlocks convenience and appearance features. It never affects the encryption or privacy guarantees, which are identical on both tiers. Billing, renewal, cancellation and refunds are covered in the refunds and subscription terms.
Availability and changes to the service
Anonium is provided on an ongoing but not guaranteed basis. Features may change, and the service may be interrupted for maintenance or for reasons outside our control. We may impose limits on usage to keep the service stable and to deter abuse.
Termination
You may stop using Anonium at any time by deleting your identity in the app, which erases your record on our side and your conversations on the device. We may suspend or terminate access where necessary to protect users or the service, or where use breaches these terms.
Disclaimers
Anonium is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error free, or that messages will always be delivered.
Because your conversations exist only on your device and we hold no backup, loss or replacement of your device means permanent loss of that history. This is an intended property of the design.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Modullium is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, for loss of data or message history, or for the conduct of other users. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Changes to these terms
These terms may be updated. The date at the top of this page will reflect the latest version, and continued use after publication constitutes acceptance.
